Heelsum es una aldea en el municipio de Renkum en la provincia holandesa de Güeldres. Cuenta con más de 3.540 habitantes. La aldea está orientada tanto hacia Oosterbeek como hacia Renkum. El nombre Hellessem ya aparece en el siglo XI. El nombre se puede explicar mejor como 'asentamiento junto a la diferencia de altura'. Sin embargo, los primeros vestigios de ocupación datan del siglo XIV. No muy lejos de la iglesia se encontró una tumba que data del siglo VI o VII.
