Puttershoek ist ein Dorf und ehemalige Gemeinde an der Alten Maas, in der Gemeinde Hoeksche Waard auf der gleichnamigen Insel, in der niederländischen Provinz Südholland. Das Dorf hat 7.205 Einwohner. Der Spitzname für die Einwohner von Puttershoek ist Brokken. Bereits vor der Sint-Elisabethsflut von 1421 lag an der Stelle des heutigen Puttershoek ein Dorf namens Hoecke. Dieser Name wurde wahrscheinlich von der recht scharfen Kurve abgeleitet, die der Deich rund um die Groote oder Hollandsche Waard hier machte. Nach der Sint-Elisabethsflut kam das Land in die Hände der Herren von Putten, die es an einen Ambachtsheer vergaben.
