Es liegt im Südosten von Joure und im Westen von Sintjohannesga, nicht weit vom Tjeukemeer entfernt. Zusammen mit Sintjohannesga bildet es ein Zwillingsdorf. Die beiden Orte sind auch miteinander verwachsen. Zudem wird viel mit dem benachbarten Rohel zusammengearbeitet, weshalb man auch von einem Drillingdorf spricht.
