Im Jahr 1863 wurde die Linie Utrecht-Zwolle gebaut. Ermelo erhielt zunächst keinen Halt und Zugreisende mussten in Nunspeet aussteigen. 1883 erhielt Ermelo dank eines Beitrags von M.J. Chevallier schließlich einen Halt.
