Der Kadoelermeer liegt an der Grenze zwischen Overijssel und Flevoland und ist einer der Randseen der Noordoostpolder. Der kleine See entstand bei der Anlage der Noordoostpolder und ist nach der Siedlung Kadoelen benannt.
Das Wasser ist dort recht flach, außer im Fahrwasser, das häufig für die Freizeitfahrt genutzt wird. Das überschüssige Wasser aus der Noordoostpolder wird durch die Pumpstation Smeenge in den Kadoelermeer abgeführt. Das Wasserschap Reest und Wieden ist zusammen mit dem Wasserschap Zuiderzeeland für die Wasserqualität verantwortlich. Es gibt zwei kleine Inseln, die beim Vertiefen des Fahrwassers entstanden sind. Seit Januar 2009 verwaltet Natuurmonumenten den Kadoelermeer; es geht hierbei hauptsächlich um die Uferlandschaften.
