Blankenberg 7, Cadier en Keer: Schloss Blankenberg
Schloss Blankenberg, ein malerisches Schloss versteckt in der sanft hügeligen Landschaft, hat einen schönen Garten und eine prächtige Auffahrt. Bereits 1371 wird Blankenberg in den Annalen erwähnt. Um 1825 wurde das heutige dreigeschossige Hauptgebäude im Auftrag der Familie Pichot de Plessis erbaut. Die Familie De Chestret de Haneffe ließ das gesamte Ensemble zwischen 1856 und 1863 umfassend umbauen. Aus dieser Zeit stammen die beiden Eckpavillons. 1904 wurde es ein Kloster für die französische Bruderschaft von St. Blasius. Später wurde es ein Kloster der Schwestern vom Armen Kind Jesus. 2004 übernahm das Akademische Krankenhaus Maastricht den Komplex, um als Rehabilitationsklinik zu fungieren. Die noch vorhandenen Nonnen zogen nach Huize Loreto in Simpelveld. Heutzutage ist das kleine Schloss ein Pflegekomplex.
