Ein langer breiter Sandweg zwischen der Heide: ein idyllisches Bild. Diese Alte Poststraße gab es bereits im späten Mittelalter. Es ist nicht schwer vorzustellen, wie die Hamburger Postkutsche aus Naarden hier durch die Landschaft fuhr. Zwischen 1664 und 1828 transportierte sie Personen, Fracht und Post von Deutschland über Amersfoort und Naarden und mit der Trekschuit weiter nach Amsterdam.
