Utopia
Vom Wadden-Deich hat man einen guten Blick auf die Vögel im Gebiet der Gräben. Hier brüten große Möwen und Stelzenläufer auf den Muschelstränden. Diese wurden speziell für sie angelegt. Bei Hochwasser fliehen die Vögel von der Nordsee an einen sicheren Ort hinter dem Deich. In Utopia können sie in Ruhe warten, bis die Salzwiesen und Wattflächen wieder trocken liegen. Im flachen Wasser finden sie Nahrung. Dieses Gebiet wurde früher für die Landwirtschaft genutzt. Natuurmonumenten hat es kürzlich in ein wichtiges Brut- und Nahrungsgebiet verwandelt. Die Maschinen waren noch nicht weg, da wurde es bereits in Gebrauch genommen.
