De Beemster () ist ein Polder und eine ehemalige Gemeinde in der niederländischen Provinz Nordholland. Der Polder wurde 1999 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.In den Niederlanden wird der Name Beemster mit dem bestimmten Artikel gebraucht. Es heißt also nicht: Hij woont in Beemster., sondern: Hij woont in de Beemster. . Ähnliches gilt für die anderen Polder Wormer, Purmer, Schermer, und oft auch Wieringermeer, Haarlemmermeer sowie das Amsterdamer Stadtviertel Bijlmermeer.
