Beemster è una municipalità dei Paesi Bassi di 8.592 abitanti situata nella provincia dell'Olanda Settentrionale.
Beemster è stato il primo polder olandese ad essere ricavato da un lago; l'acqua venne estratta dal lago attraverso l'uso di mulini a vento. Il polder Beemster venne creato nel periodo tra il 1609 ed il 1612. Sono stati preservati intatti l'ordine dei campi, strade, canali, argini ed insediamenti, tutti impostati secondo progetti in stile classico e rinascimentale. Parallelamente alla griglia delle strade si è sviluppata una griglia di canali.
