Die Provinz Friesland ist eine der zwölf niederländischen Provinzen. Zu ihr gehören alle bewohnten westfriesischen Inseln mit Ausnahme von Texel. Mit ihnen ist Friesland die zweitnördlichste niederländische Provinz, gelegen zwischen dem IJsselmeer im Westen und der Provinz Groningen im Osten. Die Hauptstadt ist Leeuwarden .
