Das Schloss Breda war einst die Residenz der Nassau, der Vorfahren unserer königlichen Familie. Aufgrund der wichtigen internationalen Rolle der Nassau war das Schloss im 15. bis 17. Jahrhundert ein bedeutender Ort in Europa.
Lange GeschichteDas Schloss Breda hat eine lange Geschichte. Bereits 1198 stand an dieser Stelle eine Burg. Das Schloss kam zu Beginn des 15. Jahrhunderts durch die Heirat des deutschen Grafen Engelbrecht von Nassau mit der Brederin Johanna von Polanen in den Besitz der Nassau.
Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte wurde am Schloss nahezu ständig umgebaut.
