Das NTKC-Gelände bei Austerlitz liegt im Nationalpark Utrechtse Heuvelrug in abwechselnd bewaldetem Gebiet nur wenige Gehminuten vom Herzen des Dorfes entfernt. Das parkartige Gelände, etwa 2 ha groß, besteht aus Wiesen, die von Baum- und Strauchgruppen umgrenzt sind.
Die Umgebung des NTKC-Geländes in Austerlitz bietet gute Möglichkeiten für Rad- und Wandertouren in der Natur. Auch das Flussgebiet ist ganz in der Nähe.
Für Kinder gibt es in der Umgebung viel zu erleben. Zum Beispiel den bekannten Spielplatz De Pyramide von Austerlitz. Schwimmen kann man im Henschotermeer bei Woudenberg.
In Driebergen und Zeist gibt es zahlreiche Geschäfte. Utrecht und Amersfoort mit verschiedenen Museen können leicht besucht werden. Der Tierpark von Amersfoort liegt in Fahrradnähe.
