Tienhoven ist ein kleines Dorf in der Gemeinde Stichtse Vecht, in der niederländischen Provinz Utrecht. Das Dorf hat 1.775 Einwohner. Ein Stück Land, groß zehn Höfen, wurde 1243 von Herman van Maarssen an das Kapitel von St. Pieter in Utrecht verkauft. Dadurch wurde das Kapitel der Besitzer des Gerichts Tienhoven. Das Kapitel verkaufte seine Rechte 1621 an die Familie Ploos van Amstel. Bereits im Mittelalter gab es eine Kapelle in Tienhoven, aber Tienhoven wurde niemals eine eigenständige Pfarrei. Erst nach der Reformation wurde es mit der Ernennung eines Predigers im Jahr 1604 zu einer eigenständigen kirchlichen Gemeinde. Zu dieser Gemeinde gehörten auch die Einwohner von Maarsseveen und Breukeleveen.
