Santpoort ist ein Dorf in der Gemeinde Velsen, in der Region IJmond, in der Provinz Nordholland. Es besteht heutzutage aus den separaten Kernen Santpoort-Nord und Santpoort-Süd. Im Jahr 2021 betrug die Einwohnerzahl 10.610, davon 7.240 in Santpoort-Nord und 3.370 in Santpoort-Süd. Der Name Santpoort ist eine Verballhornung von Sancta Porta, Latein für heilige Pforte, da im Mittelalter Pilger über dieses damals nur schwer begehbare Moorgebiet gen Norden zogen, in Richtung religiös bedeutender Orte wie Beverwijk, wo St. Agatha verehrt wurde, Egmond, wo ein wichtiges Kloster war, Heiloo, wo es noch immer einen Mariabestattungsort gibt, und Alkmaar und Bergen, wo Wunder geschehen sind. Der Name wurde früher als Zandpoort geschrieben.
