Santpoort es una aldea en el municipio de Velsen, en la región de IJmond, en la provincia de Holanda Septentrional. Actualmente se compone de las localidades separadas de Santpoort-Nord y Santpoort-Zuid. En 2021, la población era de 10.610 habitantes, de los cuales 7.240 residían en Santpoort-Nord y 3.370 en Santpoort-Zuid. El nombre Santpoort es una corrupción de Sancta Porta, latín para puerta santa, ya que en la Edad Media, los peregrinos se dirigían a través de esta difícilmente transitable zona de lagos hacia el norte, en dirección a lugares de importancia religiosa como Beverwijk, donde se veneraba a Santa Ágata, Egmond, donde había una importante abadía, Heiloo, que todavía tiene un lugar de peregrinación mariana, y Alkmaar y Bergen, donde habían ocurrido milagros. El nombre se escribía anteriormente como Zandpoort.
