Der Bauernhof Berkenstein ist eines der wenigen verbliebenen Gebäude in diesem Teil von Veenendaal, das uns noch an die agrarische Geschichte dieser Region erinnert, vor dem Bau von Veenendaal-West. Das Gebäude steht auf der Liste der gemeindlichen Denkmäler. Der Bauernhof wurde 2004 im Auftrag der Gemeinde Veenendaal restauriert und wird nun als Hospiz genutzt, in dem viele Freiwillige tätig sind.
