Die Sophiapolder ist ein wahres Vogelparadies. Tausende Vögel kommen in dieses Gebiet. Brutvögel, die hier jedes Jahr zurückkehren, sind unter anderem die Möwe, die Schwarzkopfmöwe, der Rotschenkel, der kleine Knutt, der Kiebitz und der Haubentaucher. Aber nicht nur Vögel gedeihen in dem Gebiet. Die Sophiapolder beherbergt mehr als 200 Pflanzenarten. Es wimmelt hier von der Biodiversität. Die Sophiapolder ist nicht frei zugänglich. Aber es ist wunderschön von der Isabelladijk aus zu überblicken. Gegenüber den wichtigsten Vogelinseln wurde eine Aussichtsplattform errichtet, um einen Blick darauf zu werfen.
