Der soldatenfriedhof Ysselsteyn ist der einzige deutsche soldatenfriedhof in den Niederlanden. Der friedhof wurde 1947 auf Anordnung der niederländischen Regierung angelegt und erstreckt sich über ein Gelände von etwa 28 Hektar. Hier findest du die Gräber von mehr als 31.598 Verstorbenen. Fast alle Menschen hier sind während des Zweiten Weltkriegs gestorben, aber es gibt auch 87 Kriegsopfer aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg.
Die meisten Kriegsopfer sind deutsche Soldaten, die ihren Wehrdienst leisteten, aber auf dem deutschen soldatenfriedhof findest du auch SS-Mitglieder und Kriegsverbrecher, niederländische Kollaborateure, Freiwillige der Wehrmacht aus anderen Ländern und einige Zivilisten, darunter Frauen und Kinder.
