Asker ist eine Kommune in der norwegischen Provinz Viken, und ein westlicher Vorort von Oslo, direkt am Oslofjord. Sie liegt im Bistum Oslo. Bis zum 31. Dezember 2019 gehörte sie zur ehemaligen Provinz Akershus. Asker grenzt an die Kommunen Bærum, Drammen, und Lier.
Asker hat einen Bahnhof an der Drammenbane. Hier beginnt der 1973 eröffnete Lieråsen tunnel, mit 10,7 km Norwegens zweitlängster Eisenbahntunnel.
