Otta ist das Verwaltungszentrum der Kommune Sel im norwegischen Fylke Innlandet am Ende des Ottadals sowie im oberen Gudbrandsdalen. Otta erhielt den Stadtstatus am 26. August 2000. Die Stadt hat etwa 1.650 Einwohner.
Nahe bei Otta liegt das Rondane-Massiv, das 1962 zum ersten Nationalpark in Norwegen wurde und einige Gipfel über 2.000 Meter aufweist. Die Schlacht von Kringen zwischen norwegischen und schottischen Soldaten fand 1612 bei Otta statt.
