Im Süden grenzt Kleinpolen an die Slowakei.Die Woiwodschaft befindet sich auf dem Gebiet der historischen Region Kleinpolen und hat darüber hinaus in den Grenzregionen zur Slowakei kleinere Anteile an den Landschaften Arwa und Zips.
