Die Basilika der Kongreganten oder Kirche der Kongreganten ist Teil des ehemaligen Klosters der Kongreganten.
Die Basilika wurde vom Architekten André Soares entworfen und im 18. Jahrhundert erbaut, aber erst im 20. Jahrhundert fertiggestellt. Der Bau begann im Jahr 1703 und die Weihe erfolgte am 27. Oktober 1717. Allerdings fehlten noch die Türme und Statuen in den Nischen der Fassade . Der Westturm wurde erst 1964 fertiggestellt.
Am 14. Juli 1944 traf ein Kleinflugzeug mit einer Tragfläche den (zu diesem Zeitpunkt einzig noch bestehenden) Ostturm und stürzte ab.
