Manuel Agonia Palmeira restaurierte den wunderschönen Brunnen mithilfe der Fachkompetenz von Steinmetzmeistern und erhöhte ihn leicht, um eine ästhetischere Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Es wurde von wunderschönen Fliesentafeln flankiert, die zwei emblematische romanische Monumente der Gemeinde darstellen: die Ponte d'Ave und die Kirche von Rio Mau.
