Die alten Paços do Concelho de Caminha stammen aus dem 16. Jahrhundert . Das Gebäude wurde in einer Zeit wirtschaftlichen und strategischen Wohlstands für Caminha erbaut, was teilweise auf seine Lage am Fluss Miño und die Nähe zum Atlantischen Ozean zurückzuführen ist.
Das Gebäude beherbergte früher das Rathaus der Stadt. Das Obergeschoss diente als Sitzungssaal des Rathauses , während das Erdgeschoss zeitweise als Brot- und Mehlmarkt genutzt wurde.
Derzeit (2024) befindet sich dort das Tourismusbüro.
