Pelourinho de Vila Real ist ein historisches Denkmal, das die juristische und administrative Autonomie der Stadt symbolisiert.
Es wurde im Jahr 1515 gegründet, dem Jahr, in dem Vila Real von König D. Manuel I. eine neue Charta erhielt. Obwohl der ursprüngliche Pelourinho größtenteils verloren gegangen ist, handelt es sich bei der aktuellen Struktur um eine Rekonstruktion, bei der die ursprüngliche achteckige Säule erhalten geblieben ist.
Der Pranger ist vollständig aus Granit gebaut und steht auf einem Sockel aus vier achteckigen Stufen . Über der Säule befindet sich ein vierseitiger „Käfig“ mit halbkreisförmigen Bögen auf jeder Seite. An den Ecken dieses Käfigs befinden sich kleine zylindrische Säulen und das Ganze wird von einem schmiedeeisernen Kreuz mit einem Wimpel gekrönt.
