Maribor, deutsch Marburg an der Drau , ist eine Stadt und Stadtgemeinde im Nordosten Sloweniens und mit 112.065 Einwohnern dessen zweitgrößte Stadt. Sie ist seit 1962 ein römisch-katholischer Erzbischofssitz und beherbergt seit 1975 die Universität Maribor.Maribor liegt am Fuße des Bachergebirges südlich und der Windischen Bühel nördlich der Stadt und am Ufer der Drau .
