Kayseri , zuvor Mazaka oder Eusebeia , ist die Hauptstadt der gleichnamigen Provinz Kayseri in Kappadokien in der Türkei. Die Stadt hatte 2000 noch 536.392 Einwohner, die heutige Büyükşehir Belediyesi , die mit der Provinz Kayseri deckungsgleich ist, hat 1.358.980 Einwohner .
Kayseri liegt auf 1054 m am Fuße des erloschenen Vulkanes Erciyes , der mit seinen Ausbrüchen für die Tuffsteinschichten in Kappadokien verantwortlich war.
