Die Elmendorf Air Force Base ist ein Stützpunkt der US-Luftwaffe in Alaska und gehört zu den Pacific Air Forces . Auf der Basis ist das regionale Verbundkommando US Alaskan Command beheimatet, dem sie und alle auf ihr stationierten Einheiten unterstehen. Im Jahr 2010 wurde sie mit Fort Richardson zur Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson zusammengefasst.
Die Basis liegt unmittelbar nördlich von Anchorage und hat zwei Start- und Landebahnen: 06/24 und 16/34 . Die Eleventh Air Force der PACAF ist hier mit Kampfflugzeugen , Transportflugzeugen , und Aufklärungsflugzeugen vertreten. Rund 6500 Soldaten und 1000 Zivilangestellte waren 2006 auf der Basis stationiert.
