Die Princeton University ist eine in der Stadt Princeton im US-Bundesstaat New Jersey gelegene Privatuniversität. Sie ist die viertälteste Universität der Vereinigten Staaten und Gründungsmitglied der Association of American Universities, eines seit 1900 bestehenden Verbandes führender forschungsintensiver nordamerikanischer Universitäten sowie der sogenannten „Ivy League“.
Zusammen mit den Universitäten Yale und Harvard gehört sie zu den angesehensten und reichsten Universitäten der Welt. Sie hat das weltweit größte Pro-Kopf-Vermögen einer Universität überhaupt. Der Vermögenswert beläuft sich im Jahr 2015 auf knapp 21 Milliarden US-Dollar, welche wiederum maßgeblich auf Spenden von Alumni zurückgehen.
