Die 23rd Street ist eine lokale Station der IRT Lexington Avenue Line der U-Bahn von New York City. Sie befindet sich an der Kreuzung von Park Avenue South und 23rd Street im Gramercy Park und Flatiron District, Manhattan, und wird zu jeder Zeit von 6 Zügen bedient, <6> Zügen während der Hauptverkehrszeiten an Wochentagen und 4 Zügen während der späten Nachtstunden.
Die Station 23rd Street wurde für die Interborough Rapid Transit Company gebaut und war Teil der ersten U-Bahn-Linie der Stadt, die 1900 genehmigt wurde. Der Bau des Abschnitts der Linie, der die Station 23rd Street umfasst, begann am 12. September desselben Jahres. Die Station wurde am 27. Oktober 1904 eröffnet und war eine der ursprünglichen 28 Stationen der U-Bahn von New York City. Die Bahnsteige der Station wurden in den späten 1940er Jahren verlängert.
