King Records war ein 1944 von Sydney Nathan gegründetes US-amerikanisches Independent Label, dessen Katalog sich anfangs insbesondere auf Country- und Hillbilly-Musik spezialisiert hatte, aber auch die Musikgenres des Rhythm & Blues und Doo-Wop ins Repertoire aufnahm.
Sydney „Syd“ Nathan litt früh unter Asthma und starker Sehschwäche. Während der Depression arbeitete er in den unterschiedlichsten Jobs, etwa als Schmuckverkäufer, Konzessionär eines Vergnügungsparks oder Wrestling-Promoter. Als er schließlich einen Plattenladen führte, kam er auf die Idee, ein Plattenlabel zu gründen.
