Der Saint James General Store ist ein Lebensmittelladen, der an der nordwestlichen Ecke von Moriches und Harbor Hill Roads in Saint James, New York, liegt. Er wurde 1857 gegründet und ist ein beitragendes Gebäude des Saint James District, der sich hauptsächlich in der Nähe des New York State Route 25A in St. James befindet, auch wenn der Laden nordwestlich von Route 25A liegt.
In den frühen 1840er Jahren suchte Ebenezer Smith, ein Nachkomme des Gründers der Stadt Smithtown, Richard "Bull" Smith, Abenteuer auf einer Handelsexpedition westlich des Mississippi River Valley sowohl mit weißen Siedlern als auch mit Ureinwohnern. Nachdem er von dem Goldrausch in Kalifornien gehört hatte, machte sich Smith auf den weiteren Weg nach Westen, um sein Vermögen zu vergrößern.
