Dieses Denkmal wurde in Erinnerung an die am 10. Mai 1940 gefallenen Ardenner Jäger errichtet.
Rochelinval, ein friedliches Dorf in den belgischen Ardennen mit rund fünfzehn Einwohnern, das sich an einen Hügel am westlichen Ufer der Salm schmiegt. An diesem 10. Mai 1940 wurde hier Geschichte geschrieben. Die Ardenner Jäger waren fest entschlossen, den westlichen Vormarsch der Deutschen zu stoppen. Der Unteroffizier Royer und die Soldaten Baleine und Streel zahlten für dieses mutige Unternehmen mit ihrem Leben.
