HMS Charybdis war ein Leichter Kreuzer der britischen Dido-Klasse während des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Sie wurde bei Cammell Laird in Birkenhead gebaut. Sie und ihr Schwesterschiff Scylla wurden mit vier 4,5-inch--Zwillingsgeschützen anstelle der klassentypischen 5,25-inch-133-mm-Doppeltürme ausgestattet, da es bei der Lieferung der Doppeltürme Engpässe gab. Auf Grund ihres Namens und der nominell schwächeren Bewaffnung trugen die beiden Schiffe den Spitznamen „Zahnloser Schrecken“.
