Swains Island ist ein Gehobenes Atoll im Südpazifik, das geographisch zu den Union-Inseln und kulturell zu Tokelau gehört, politisch jedoch Teil Amerikanisch-Samoas ist.
Swains ist ein kleines Atoll mit einer Fläche von 1,865 km², davon 1,508 km² Landfläche und 0,358 km² Lagune. Die 11 m tiefe Lagune ist vollständig von Land umgeben und mittlerweile zum Süßwassersee geworden. Im Osten der Lagune befindet sich eine nur 764 m² große Insel. Im Jahr 2006 lebten auf Swains 37 Einwohner alle in Taulaga , einem Dorf an der Westküste. Etena im Südosten besteht nur aus dem verlassenen Herrenhaus der Jennings-Familie, der Besitzer von Swains.
