Hausleiten is located at the southwestern end of the Korneuburg district, between the towns of Stockerau and Tulln. Situated in the southwest of the Weinviertel, St. Agatha Church sits prominently on the Wagram, visible from afar, overlooking the Tulln Valley. The Wagram, once the northern cliff of the primordial Danube, descends about 30 meters towards the Danube plain, forming a distinctive terrain step. Its soil quality and southern exposure are well-suited for the establishment of vineyards. On the heights of the Wagram, potatoes, onions, and many types of grain thrive. To the south, the vast plain of the Tulln Basin spreads out, first with fertile fields, then with its floodplain area. This flood belt, with its primeval vegetation and rich wildlife, where the Hausleiten cadastral communities of Perzendorf, Schmida, and Zaina are located, was once crisscrossed by numerous side arms and old waters of the Danube. Time and again, the Danube posed a great danger to both animals and humans, with floods causing significant damage. Regulations provided relief but also led to drastic changes. The area of the market town covers 61.03 square kilometers. 14.26 percent of the area is forested.
