Pöllauberg, with 2030 inhabitants, is a municipality in the district court district of Fürstenfeld and the district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld. Pöllauberg is located in the Joglland area, about ten kilometers west of the district capital Hartberg and about 38 km northeast of the state capital Graz. The municipality belongs to the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park and is situated above Pöllau on the left bank of the Pöllauer Safen. The municipality is drained by numerous tributaries of the Pöllauer Safen, mainly from the Rauschbach. The highest point in the municipality is Masenberg, located in the far north, with an elevation of 1261 m.
