Parish Church of Waldhausen in the Strudengau

The parish church of Waldhausen im Strudengau is located in the municipality of Waldhausen im Strudengau in the lower Mühlviertel in Upper Austria. The Roman Catholic parish church of St. John the Baptist belongs to the deanery of Grein in the diocese of Linz. The church is a listed monument.

The parish church, also known as the Market Church of Waldhausen, was built under Provost Hermann Partenreuther by the Linz master builder Hiob Eder in the Gothic style between 1608 and 1612. The two spiral staircase towers give the church its fortified appearance. On the south facade, there is a remarkable Renaissance portal. It is a three-aisled church space with large Gothic windows. The ceiling, equipped with granite ribs, is supported by octagonal pillars.
