Gauerdal kunsroute

The Gauertal AlpkulTour is a themed route with installations by the artist Roland Haas. They show special insights into the way of life and work in the Montafon, such as alpine culture and three-stage agriculture. From the Grüneck mountain station you can easily reach the limestone massifs of the Rätikon. After the Lindauer Hütte, the road leads through the Gauertal Maißsäßlandschaft to Latschau.

The result was an artistically staged themed trail with 13 locations with unusual insights. In these places you will come across unexpected objects designed by the Montafon artist Roland Haas. These sculptures invite you to marvel, marvel and reflect on ways of living and working, while at the same time telling stories from the Montafon and Alpine culture. With the Golmerbahn https://www.berghof-golm.at/ you can conquer the first meters of altitude from Latschau to the Grüneck mountain station at 1,890 meters above sea level. You can take your first break at the Berghof Golm. From there, it's a short climb. At the fork, follow the path to the Latätzalpe. The hike goes up and down slightly at first and takes about 1 hour. On the Latschäalpe you still have the opportunity to take a break. In addition to butter and mountain cheese, the traditional Montafon "Sura Kees" is produced here. In this area you can see marmots. From the Sennalpe you first hike a little uphill on a slightly ascending but short route, then it goes slightly up and down to the Lindauer Hütte on the last stretch. The Lindauer Hütte is located at the foot of the famous Three Towers, the so-called landmark in the Montafon and striking peaks in the Rätikon. After a refreshment, a visit to the adjacent botanical alpine garden is worthwhile. On 3,000 m² you will get to know the native flora and fauna of Vorarlberg. Then the descent begins. You hike through the Gauertal via the Untere Sporaalpe and Latschänalpe. After about 3/4 of the road you can make a stopover at the Gauertalhaus.
