Wildmoosalm

Wild moss, rare plants, a quaint alpine guesthouse with the original mountain hut proprietor, Walter Reindl, and a lake that likes to play hide and seek are just some of the attractions at Wildmoosalm, one of the most popular alpine huts in Tirol. The alpine grazing area consists predominantly of forest pastures and beautiful swamplands. Around 70 head of young cattle graze here in summer, as well as at the basin of the Wildmoossee lake. If it happens to be here! Lake Wildmossee, namely, only appears every few years. No one knows exactly when it will return. Because its appearance also depends on the groundwater level, the locals say: "Lots of snow, lots of lake!"
This walk begins at the Olympiahalle car park in Seefeld and leads past the Möserer See lake and the Lottensee lake before it ends at the Wildmoossee lake. The alpine hut sharing the same name can be found a little further east of the lake. The return walk from Wildmoosalm leads through the Kirchwald Forest and back to the original starting point in Seefeld.
