Description by the author

Along rivers, through forests wooded areas and across a beautiful high plateau – the circular ride starting in Seefeld has an enormous amount to offer in terms of scenery. The ride leads along the Isar river to the village of Mittenwald, back along the edge of the Arnspitze Nature Reserve and parallel to the Leutascher Ache river via the Wildmoos plateau to the starting point in Seefeld. A good level of fitness is required: the climbs are rarely steep but come thick and fast in the second half of the ride.
The starting point of this ride is Seefeld railway station, from where the route heads north-west along the Leutascher Straße. At the end of the village the route turns onto the cycle path and runs slightly downhill along the Klammbach stream in a north-easterly direction to the village of Boden-Niederlög and on towards Scharnitz. The route crosses Scharnitz on the main road and, at the end of the village, leads down to the Isar river. This rushing river will accompany riders all the way to Mittenwald and makes for impressive pictures with its wide gravel bed. After crossing the German border and entering Mittenwald, the route rejoins the Leutascher Straße and climbs steeply back into Tirol. There follows a section of about 4 kilometres on tarmac, which ends at a guesthouse in Burggraben and continues aong the wonderfully gravelled Achweg trail. Now begins another picturesque part of the ride, which runs along the Schartentalbachl stream and later parallel to the Leutascher Ache river. The route leads steadily uphill towards the west before the trail turns south shortly before the Buchener Landesstraße and the last metres of climbing have to be conquered on a climb to the Wildmoossee lake. The final highlight is the descent back to Seefeld, on the same road on which riders left the town at the start of the ride.
