Ochsengarten Trail

Ochsengarten in the Nedertal, which leads from the lower Ötztal up to Kühtai, is perfectly suited for cross-country skiing. At an altitude of 1,570 meters, it ensures great snow reliability, especially from December onwards. The approximately five-kilometer long trail runs mostly through the forest parallel to the Nederbach, and is prepared for both skaters and the classic style. The small elevation differences make cross-country skiing a pleasure even for beginners.
The start of the trail is located near the Balbach ski lift. From there, the route goes east. Above the Nederbach, it winds through the forest. After about two kilometers, the country road has to be crossed once, and then, after a few hundred meters, the switchback occurs on a meadow. The return path initially parallels the outbound route for a while. Then, the route branches off to the right and runs along the north side of the country road to the entrance of Ochsengarten, where it ends in front of the primary school.
