For the distance this is an easy ride with many reasons to stop and admire where you are. The rail trail is a delight to ride, with the good, sealed and wide surface making cycling easy, even on a skinny tyred road bike. The roads on the route are generally quiet and flat. The scenery is a mix of farmland and open bush with the attraction of the Australian Alps on the horizon where you can admire them but not have to climb them.
