The Graslei alongside the river Leie is known for its peculiar looking ancient houses, which are best viewed at the other side of the water (Korenlei) or on the close-by bridge (Saint-Michiels bridge). These houses of craft corporations
have been built in the 17 th century, but some houses are dating out of the 12 th century.
