On the south side of St. Peter's Square, at number 26, you can see a gem of eclecticism and stylized Art Deco. It is the pharmacy of Vooruit, built in 1923. The building itself is in static neoclassical architecture and dates from 1848.
The stained glass windows with floral motifs are typical features of Art Deco. The wooden cornice is centrally designed with a stylized neorococo pediment. The client was the "Cooperative Company Vooruit," and it has always been a pharmacy since 1923.
