Mozet rightfully belongs on the list of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia. It is rich in unique (former) farms and numerous notable limestone buildings. Above all, it has preserved something of its ancestral tranquility. The village of Mozet is located in the picturesque valley of the Samson, a right tributary of the Meuse, at the corner between this latter river and the E411 motorway, a straight-line distance of 8 km southeast of Namur. It is also known for the prehistoric caves of the hamlet of Goyet, which were already inhabited during the time of the mammoths and can be compared to those of Les Eyzies and La Madeleine in Périgord. In the summer of 1998, a child’s grave from the Neolithic era was discovered, a particularly rare find. Mozet is easily accessible via the Wierde exit of the N4. You cross the E411 and a few kilometers to the northeast, you reach Mozet, which is part of the administrative unit of Gesves and has a population of approximately 500.
