*From which century do the baptismal fonts of the Collegiate Church of Saint Nicholas date?*
The Collegiate Church of Saint Nicholas is located in Place Monseu, in the heart of the city of Ciney. Frequently destroyed and then rebuilt, the collegiate mixes architectural styles. Its baptismal fonts and its crypt date back to the 12th century.
Another curiosity of Place Monseu: the music kiosk, restored on the occasion of its centenary in 1996, which is one of the most beautiful in Belgium. Historically, the city of Ciney has also played the role of Capital concerning the 32 high grounds that formed the bailiwick of Condroz.
However, Ciney has preserved very few traces of its past. The collegiate is one of the most prestigious witnesses, along with the Roman Tower, the former Carmelite convent, or the Saint-Roch Castle.
It is also in Ciney that the new RAVeL Line 126 starts towards Huy, with its tourist facilities that allow walkers to discover the region's railway history.
