In cycling, the hill is best known for the cycling race the Tour of Flanders. Since 1999 it is one of the first climbs that the riders have to climb on their way to the finish in Meerbeke. The Wolvenberg is a narrow asphalt road with an average gradient of 6.8%. The summit is at an altitude of 51m.
The Wolvenberg has been climbed 7 times, for the first time in 1999.
From 1999-2001 the climb in the Ronde is situated between the Achterberg and the Molenberg. In 2002 and 2003 it was located between the Molenberg and the Kluisberg. From 2004-2006 it was situated between the Molenberg and the Oude Kwaremont.
