The Sûre is mainly a matter of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, but it springs in Belgium, just west of Vaux-sur-Sûre, in the province of Luxembourg, roughly halfway between Neufchâteau and Bastogne. Near the village of Sûre, the river turns south and southeast, but from Witry, it flows directly east past picturesque places like Fauvillers, Radelange, and Wisembach. It ultimately reaches Martelange and crosses the border into the Grand Duchy amidst beautiful natural scenery. After a course of 165 km, the Sûre flows into the Moselle in Wasserbillig, a well-known tributary of the Rhine.
